No VAT for Battery Storage

Effective from 1st February 2024, theGovernment has scrapped VAT on all domestic battery storage systems.

 

Thisis great news for homeowners. So whether you are adding battery storage to an existing PV system, or just having battery storage alone, or even simply adding battery capacity to an existing battery storage system, there will be no VAT to pay! Solar Energy UK (SE UK) claim a victory for their ‘long standing advocacy efforts’ with their campaign to remove VAT from retrofitted domestic battery energy storage systems (BESS).The Association for Renewable Energy & Clean Technology (REA) have also been on the case and are pleased that battery storage is ‘finally’ aligned with other energy saving materials
